A skunk in Colchester tested positive for rabies and the Chatham Health District is warning people to stay away from wild animals and strangers’ pets as well.
The skunk was found in the area of Caverly Mill Road and Norwich Avenue.

The Chatham Health District is urging people not to approach or contact any wild animals or domestic animals that they do not know.
If you think you came into direct contact with the skunk, you are urged to call Chatham Health District or speak to your doctor.
