MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Saturday couldn’t have gone much worse for West Virginia — from losing to a Mid-American Conference team to losing its top offensive player for the rest of the season.
One week later, they’ll have a chance to quickly erase the memory of that ugly trip across the Ohio border with what West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez called “the biggest game we play” — a Backyard Brawl matchup with Pitt in Morgantown.
“I’ve been in a bunch of rivalries,” he said Tuesday. “There’s none that’s more intense than this.”
The Mountaineers fell 17-10 on the road to Ohio last Saturday. In the second quarter of that defeat, star running back Jahiem White suffered a knee injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the year. West Virginia scored just three points after the preseason All
