KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Tennessee football great John Henderson will return to Neyland Stadium on Saturday and be honored on the field ahead of his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame later this year.

Officials from the university, the National Football Foundation and the College Hall of Fame will present Henderson with a Hall of Fame plaque that will be displayed permanently on Rocky Top during halftime of Tennessee's SEC opener against Georgia.

He will be the 23rd Tennessee Volunteer to enter the College Football Hall of Fame. A Nashville native, he played at Tennessee from 1998 to 2001 and became one of the country's most dominant defensive linemen.
