ROCKFORD, Mich. — One person died in what the Rockford Police Department described as an "accident" outside a home Tuesday afternoon.
Just after 2 p.m., the City of Rockford said emergency responders were working an accident at a home on West Bridge Street.
"The scene is secure, and there is no danger to the public," the city said in a social media post.
Rockford City officials asked the community to steer clear of the area while crews work the scene. Those who live nearby are welcome, but officials asked to allow emergency personnel space to work safely.
A 13 ON YOUR SIDE photojournalist on the scene said multiple Kent County Sheriff's Office vehicles, as well as a representative from the Medical Examiner's Office, were on the scene.
