BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Once every two years, housing advocates, state officials, and innovators gather to discuss how housing in Maine can be better.

“We’re thinking outside the box and building shelters as well as permanent, affordable, and comfortable housing for all who need it in our state,” said Gov. Janet Mills.

Mills opened up the 2025 Maine Affordable Housing Conference in front of hundreds of attendees in the Cross Insurance Center.

Mills spoke about the progress Maine has seen over the past few years in housing projects, policies, and more.

However, industry leaders agree that the need to improve housing resources continues to grow.
