LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A crash report revealed more details about a northwest Lincoln crash that left an 11-year-old boy injured Monday night.

The crash happened near North First Street and West Dawes Avenue around 8:06 p.m.

Police said a a Ford Explorer driven by a 19-year-old man was traveling southbound on 1st Street approaching Dawes Avenue. He had a 14-year-old passenger inside the vehicle with him. Around the same time, a group of kids were near a mid block crosswalk that’s controlled by a traffic control light.

The driver told police that while he was driving, an 11-year-old boy with the group stepped into the roadway and in front of his vehicle, causing the two to collide.
