Apple announced a full lineup of new products, including a range of new iPhones, three new Apple Watch models and a new set of AirPods.

During the annual Apple event, held on Tuesday, Sept. 9, the tech giant announced the release of the highly-anticipated iPhone 17. The new smartphone will feature a 6.3-inch display (up from the iPhone 16's 6.1-inch display), an all-day battery with eight hours of video playback, a new 18-megapixel "Center Stage" front-facing camera and an improved processor.

In addition to the next generation iPhone, Apple also announced the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, a beefed-up version of the smartphone, and the iPhone Air, a newly-designed, sleek smartphone that is just 5.6 millimeters thick, making it the thinnest iPhone on the market. Three new Apple Watch models and a revamped AirPods set will also be on the market later this month.

iPhone 17: Colors and features

  • Colors: Lavender, mist blue, black, white and sage
  • Cameras: 48-megapixel main camera, 12-megapizel 2x telephoto lens and 18-megapixel "Center Stage" front-facing camera. The front camera features a square sensor, meaning the smartphone will not need to be rotated to take photos in vertical and horizontal orientations.

  • Battery life: New Adaptative Battery Mode, which tracks usage to save battery life when possible
  • Nitty gritty: A19 processor, 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU

iPhone 17 Pro

  • Colors: Silver, deep blue and cosmic orange
  • Cameras: Three 48-megapixel rear cameras, 12-megapixel 8x telephoto lens and 18-megapixel front camera
  • Battery life: Expanded battery pack size with up to 39 hours of video playback
