The ECHL's Utah Grizzlies franchise is relocating to New Jersey after the 2025-26 season.
The organization announced the move on Tuesday. The Grizzlies, who have been a member of the ECHL since 2006-07, are moving to Trenton, N.J., to begin play next season.
The Utah Grizzlies have played at the Maverick Center in West Valley City, Utah, since 2006.
The ECHL formerly had a franchise in Trenton, N.J. from 1999 to 2013.
The Toledo Walleye played the Grizzlies in the 2022 ECHL Western Conference finals. Toledo won the series four games to one to advance to the Kelly Cup Finals.
Utah officials did not give a reason for the relocation. However, a new NHL franchise recently set up operations in nearby Salt Lake City. The Utah Mammoth franchise joined the NHL as an expansion team for the 202
