FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (WKYT) -A Fleming County student has died after injuries from an ATV crash Thursday night.

The coroner says the victim was 12-year-old Lindsey Marshall.

The seventh grader from Simons Middle School was a light in a classroom, according to the district.

Principal Whitney Wilson said the extra empty seat in their classrooms has been especially hard on students.

“She was very popular. Kids liked her, she was positive, and she was a cheerleader,” Wilson said. “I’m glad I got to know her even for a short time.”

Wilson said the school has offered extra counselors to help the kids cope with the loss.

“It’s hard seeing kids hurt and not being able to offer much comfort,” she said. “It’s the most difficult situation I’ve faced as principal.”

Marshall was also a cheerleader.
