Crews battle house fire in Maquon

KNOX Co., Ill. (KWQC) - Emergency crews are on-scene battling a house fire in Maquon.

The fire is in the 100 block of East Street in Maquon, according to a media release from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Multiple agencies including Maquon Fire, GHAS, Knoxville, Yates City, London Mills, Abingdon, Fairview, and East Galesburg Fire, are actively working the scene under a MABAS Box Alarm.

For your safety and to allow first responders clear access, you’re asked to avoid:

East Street

1st Street and 2nd Street

“We appreciate the community’s patience as crews continue efforts to contain the fire,” the sheriff’s office said.
