BANGOR — Saving Grace Counseling is a new mental health service in Bangor that seeks to provide treatment for people who may not otherwise be able to access it.
“Our job basically is to bring hope back to the hopeless. If people don’t have hope, then what’s the sense? Right?" said Scott Hosier, founder of Saving Grace Counseling.
The non-profit creates universal access by simply asking all clients to pay a small fee for services. If they can’t, the organization covers it.
“Mental health is something that is near and dear to my heart,” Hosier said. “We ask everybody to at least bring $20, no matter their income. If they don’t have any money, then we get donations.”
