The race for the last National League wild-card spot became a little tighter on Monday night with the Mets losing 1-0 to the NL East-leading Phillies in Philadelphia and the Giants blowing out the Diamondbacks 11-5 in San Francisco.

The Mets still are three games up on the Giants plus New York holds the tiebreaking by virtue of winning the season series 4-2, but the clubs are trending in opposite directions. The Mets have lost three in a row and are 14-24 in their last 38 games while the Giants have won 12 of their last 15.
