The Lubbock County Commissioner's Court on Monday approved the Lubbock County Hospital District's budget and tax rate.

With little discussion, commissioners unanimously approved the hospital district's $1.1 billion budget to run University Medical Center.

Also approved was a $0.09966 tax rate for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The no-new-revenue tax rate is expected to generate about $35 million, which is earmarked for indigent patients, said County Judge Curtis Parrish.

Last year, commissioners adopted a $0.099679 tax rate for the Hospital District.

It is the 13th year out of 16 years that commissioners adopted the no-new-revenue rate, recommended by the hospital district's Board of Managers.
