A couple were left scratching their heads after they returned home to find their house mysteriously covered in scaffolding that they hadn't requested.

CCTV footage from a doorbell camera captured three unidentified construction workers arriving at the home of married couple Mike Keeling, 56, and Leanne Smith, 45, while they were out on Saturday (Sep 6).

The video shows the workers unloading scaffold tubes from a flatbed lorry, whilst another man rings the couple's Ring doorbell.

The man, who was not wearing any company uniform and drove a van without a company logo, humorously responded 'Hello, Chinese takeaway' when an automated voice asked him to leave a message.
