PHILADELPHIA — Former University of Georgia star and current Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter learned his punishment from the NFL after spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in the league's season opener.

Carter was fined $57,222 for spitting on Prescott, but he will not face any suspension, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter . The game he was ejected for will count as his one-game suspension, the NFL said.

Schefter also reported that Carter will not appeal the fine and is focused on the Eagles-Chiefs Super Bowl rematch in Kansas City on Sunday.

Carter was tossed six seconds into Thursday night's NFL season opener for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Eagles were hit with a 15-yard penalty before the first snap from scrimmage, and the Cowboys scored on the opening drive
