IOWA CITY, Iowa —

Iowa has lost another starter on offense. Kirk Ferentz announced Tuesday that senior tight end Addison Ostrenga is out for the year with an Achilles tendon injury he suffered in the Cy-Hawk game .

"It's really unfortunate," Ferentz said. "Addison is a great young guy. You hate to have anyone lose playing time. He is one of our senior guys, a leader, just a tremendous young person. Certainly disappointing there."

Ostrenga was poised to be a big contributor. As a junior, the Wisconsin native had 15 catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. As a sophomore in 2023, he had 31 catches for 192 yards and 2 touchdowns. He could apply for a medical redshirt.
