Over the past few decades, many restaurants on the Outer Banks have come and gone. Keeping one open is notoriously difficult. It requires grit, passion and an unwavering work ethic. Henry Emmons Ezzell Jr., owner of Henry’s Restaurant in Kill Devil Hills, who died at age 81 on Aug. 15, embodied all of those qualities.
