Fresh off a by-election win in Alberta’s Battle River-Crowfoot riding that will allow him to sit in Parliament, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre made a quick stop in London on Tuesday, days ahead of Parliament’s return. Free Press reporter Jonathan Juha spoke with the Leader of the Opposition about his short-term plans and issues top of mind for Londoners. This interview has been edited for length and clarity.

Q: Parliament is set to resume next week. Why come to London ahead of the restart and what are your priorities for this session?

A: London supports the Conservatives and I think the people here want safe streets by locking up criminals the Liberals have set free. They want stronger take-home pay with lower taxes and inflation. They want secure borders by hitting the brakes
