A woman fearing she will be the victim of domestic violence secretly records audio of the situation. It may gather the evidence needed to prosecute her abuser. It is also a crime in Massachusetts, which prohibits recording audio of people without their consent.
"This evidence can give a victim protection they need to escape a horrific situation, protect a child from going home to an abuser, and in some cases save their lives," state Sen. Patrick O'Connor said in testimony Tuesday before the Legislature's Joint Committee on the Judiciary. Latest Forecast
