NEW YORK (ABC22/FOX44) - After a court ruling, a Hartford religious school will be allowed back into state-sponsored sporting events.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit ruled Tuesday that Mid Vermont Christian School (MVCA), located in Quechee, must be reinstated in the state's athletic association as litigation proceeds.

In February 2023, the school forfeited a first-round game in girls basketball playoffs rather than play against a team with a transgender athlete, as previously reported by ABC22/FOX44. You can read our coverage of the original incident at the link below.
