Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shaprio approved a plan that will restore all Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority cuts by Sept. 14 by allowing the agency to use $394 million for major capital projects to cover operating costs.
Shapiro made the announcement Monday, which spares two SEPTA lines that serve New Jersey , one which faced total elimination in January. The agencies “doomsday” plan would have axed five rail lines and ended 32 bus routes to close a $213 million gap.
