BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- The sixth annual Brunswick Trike and Bike -- a Cleveland Clinic fundraiser for pediatric cancer research -- will return to Brunswick High School, 3581 Center Road, at 5 p.m. Sept. 19.
Originally known as the Medina County Trike and Bike, the event is held in remembrance o f Collin Nemet , a Brunswick resident who died of brain cancer in 2021 just short of his 12th birthday.
Shortly after Collin’s death, his grandmother, Patricia Kaszar, suggested to City Manager Carl DeForest -- a regular participant in the Cleveland Clinic’s VeloSano adult bike ride for cancer research -- that Brunswick should host a Trike and Bike event.
DeForest said in the five years since its inaugural event, the local Trike and Bike has raised more than $185,000 for pediatric cancer research
