A woman bit a police officer and claimed to be HIV positive during a brutal assault in Cheshire. Sian Hughes, of Thomas Kelly Grove, Great Sutton, launched an attack on two officers after a car crash.

Chester Magistrates Court heard how Hughes was behind the wheel of a Nissan Juke on High Street in Clotton when she collided with a tree on Thursday, December 12.

Upon the arrival of the police, Hughes refused to cooperate with the officers and declined to provide a breath test. When the officers tried to arrest her following her refusal, she became violent, repeatedly pushing one officer away and biting another as he attempted to handcuff her.
