BLOOMINGTON ( 25News Now ) - The largest incoming class of students since 2011 is attending Illinois Wesleyan University this school year.
That’s according to university officials, who said as of Sept. 8. a total of 595 new students joined the 1,084 other Titans enrolled at the school. Enrollment figures for incoming students are the highest they have been in 15 years.
According to the data, the latest group includes 544 students in their first year and 51 transfer students. Those students come from four different countries and 27 states across the U.S. Of that number, 30% of them are the first in their families to attend college, while 47% are involved in athletics, and 39% identify as students of color.
