A tiny baby has sadly died after being mauled to death by the family dog. ‌

Little Jason Anthony Weaver was just one week old when he was savaged by the five-year-old husky-pit bull mix on September 4 in the States. ‌

Tragically the infant died from blunt-force trauma wounds, the Huntington County Coroner's Office announced. ‌

Medics attempted to to save the child's life at the home in northeastern Indiana, US. The baby was taken to hospital in a critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

Animal control chased the dog and placed the creature in quarantine. Little Jason's death has been ruled an accident, officials said, as his parents try to come to terms with the horrific incident, reports the Mirror. ‌
