Tampa Bay Rays star Wander Franco, who was found guilty of sexual abuse of a minor in June, was involved in another concerning incident that required the assistance of police.

In June, a judge gave Wander Franco a two-year suspended sentence after being found guilty of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl. The girl’s mother was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually trafficking her.

Now, Franco is back in the news after reports surfaced of a worrying episode that prompted his family to call the police for help.

Per Martín Adames of the Associated Press, police detained Wander Franco on Tuesday and took him to a mental health clinic in the Dominican Republic. Col. Diego Pesqueira told the AP that Franco’s family asked for him to be detained:
