SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A group of South Dakota families is raising the alarm to voice opinions on the care and treatment of children with disabilities.

A meeting on Wednesday is offering feedback on proposed cuts to LifeScape, as proposed by the South Dakota Department of Social Services.

When a parent notices their child falling behind in developmental milestones, it can be heartbreaking. That’s the feeling Tiffany Buchholz-Vanhoe remembers with Archer.

“He didn’t have any words. He was not talking, he was not walking. Umm, he was crawling. Umm, but that was barely that,” Buchholz-Vanhoe said.

He was diagnosed and received therapy at LifeScape, and the change was remarkable.
