As two of the men charged with aiding escaped Wolfpack gang killer Robby Alkhalil make their first Vancouver court appearance on Wednesday, questions remain about who hired them and whether anyone at the Port Coquitlam jail was involved.

RCMP federal policing and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit announced Monday that Ryan Van Gool, of Harrison Hot Springs, and Ottawa residents John Potvin and Edward Ayoub had been charged with conspiracy to commit a prison break and using force or violence.

Postmedia obtained a copy of the direct indictment Tuesday, which states that the alleged conspiracy took place “at or near Vancouver, Langley and Port Coquitlam between July 7, 2022 and July 21, 2022” — the day Alkhalil escaped.
