WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — The former principal of Rolesville High School and the wife of the current Wake Forest High School football coach has died over a week after being shot in Wake Forest, town officials said Tuesday.
According to the Wake Forest Police Department, 56-year-old Ericka Ruffin Lucas was shot in the 600 block of East Nelson Avenue just after 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officials with the Town of Wake Forest said Lucas, whose husband Reggie is the head football coach at Wake Forest High School, died as a result of those injuries on Tuesday.
Wake Forest police said they have arrested two teens — 18-year-old Dexter Lamont Mills of Wake Forest and an unnamed 16-year-old juvenile — in connection to the shooting.
