RUPERT, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The City of Rupert held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday for its new fire station.
This marks the first time in the city’s 109-year history that a fire station has been built specifically for Rupert’s firefighters; all their other buildings were repurposed, according to Fire Chief Roger Davis. The city broke ground on the building near the intersection of F Street and Scott Avenue in July 2024.
“It’s about a 9300 square foot building with 6 apparatus bays, a large meeting room, and room for expansion. We have an upstairs up there for future expansion as the city grows, as every city in Idaho knows. So, we can help get ahead or at least stay up with the growth we’re experiencing,” explained Chief Davis.
The project cost $2.1 million, with over half of the
