DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- Dothan High School has a new principal.

The Dothan City Schools Board of Education approved the hiring of Brian Riviere during the board meeting on Tuesday night.

According to Dothan City Schools, Riviere has 27 years of experience in education and has spent the last 12 years as a principal.

The Dothan High School website shows Riviere was an assistant principal before his appointment.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Riviere as the new leader of Dothan High School,” said Dothan City Schools Superintendent Dr. Garrick Askew. “His wealth of experience, academic excellence, and passion for education will be instrumental in guiding our students and staff toward continued achievement.”
