BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) - The Bristol, Virginia, Police Department (BVPD) is speaking out about a decision they made to post body camera footage of an incident that happened over the weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Bristol.

The body cam footage from September 6 shows Bristol, Va., police officers approach Stephanie and Josh Williams in a lounge at the Hard Rock Casino before escorting them out of the restaurant.

"Our officers were contacted by members of Hard Rock staff about coming in and assisting them with an individual and her body camera was turned on as soon as the officer made contact with the individual that was identified to them," said BVPD Chief Byron Ashbrook.

Ashbrook said officers normally work as extra security during the weekends at the casino.
