Coming up this Friday at The Livery in Benton Harbor will be the next installment of PechaKucha, the program that features rapid fire presentations from a variety of speakers on topics of their choice.

The Krasl Art Center’s Jamie Balkin tells us PechaKucha is Japanese for “chit chat,” and the presentations feature 20 slides, 20 seconds per slide, in six minutes and 40 seconds each. She says PechaKucha really attracts some crowds.

“ They’re very popular,” Balkin said. “ We average between 150 to 250 attendees each time we do them. This is volume 34 for us, and PechaKucha Button Harbor St. Joe is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.”

Balkin says PechaKucha can appeal to just about anyone.
