The Dyckman Avenue Bridge in South Haven will undergo an underwater dive inspection on Thursday, September 18.
The city of South Haven says the work is required by the Michigan Department of Transportation to check the bridge’s underwater structure and ensure it remains safe.
Traffic on the bridge won’t be affected, but boaters may see short delays while divers are in the water. Mariners are asked to give at least 15 minutes of notice if they need divers cleared from the channel. The city urges boaters to use caution and stay alert near the bridge during the inspection.
If the inspection isn’t done on the 18th, it will be done the next day.
Anyone with questions should contact the South Haven Department of Public Works.
