ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -The Grove has become one of St. Louis’ busiest nightlife districts, with businesses preparing for a new resurfacing project along Manchester Avenue.
Amelia Rodgers, the general manager of Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, said the neighborhood has built a strong identity.
“It’s a tight-knit community and we love being part of the Grove,” Rodgers said.
Just east of Kingshighway, however, a cluster of vacant, deteriorating buildings has drawn frustration from neighbors and business owners.
Rodgers described the properties as an eyesore.
“It would be great to see something done with those vacant buildings. It’s the first thing people see,” she said.
