PLAINS, Kan. (KSNW) -- A semi-tractor-trailer caught fire Tuesday afternoon, shutting down a Kansas highway.
Meade County Emergency Management says it happened just east of the Meade/Seward County line on U.S. Highway 54. The semi was hauling a trailer containing methanol and isopropyl alcohol.
Both flammable liquids can burn with little to no visible flame, especially in sunlight. Both chemicals have a variety of commercial and industrial uses. • A trailer that caught fire on US 54 in Meade (County 9/9/25 (courtesy Meade Co.
