SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — One incarcerated person is dead after a "brief altercation between two inmates" in the Sevier County Jail, according to the Director of Public Affairs and Communications for Sevier County, Tyler Basler.

Basler said the incident is being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Sevier County Sheriff's Office.
