HARRIMAN, Tenn. — Friends and family gathered in Harriman to honor the life of 18-year-old Holden Howse, whose life was cut short in a tragic shooting.

“We just need something. Anything,” said Lynn La Vita, Holden's mother. “You know, I don't care what happens to me. I just want my boy back.”

Howse, who had just turned 18 on Aug. 13, was shot in the head two weeks later in a Harriman parking lot during a party.

“He, he was shot here. Yeah, that's what I thought,” his mother said. “That was the last day I saw him, on his birthday.”

At the vigil, friends and family returned to the site where Howse’s life ended, determined to keep his memory alive.

“They made posters and put balloons out and flowers. Even little kids came and brought stuffed animals to put out, because he was that guy,”
