SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - We’re looking at the life and times of a woman who became a legendary reporter and member of Springfield City Council.

There’s a book out now on Lucile Morris Upton . It’s called “ Newspaperwoman of the Ozarks .”

Lucile didn’t start her newspaper career here. She worked in three other cities before moving back home. Once here, she reported on major stories including the Young Brothers Massacre . But the story of the Battle of Wilson’s Creek grabbed her heart.
