Mount Sterling, Ky. (WKYT) - WKYT is partnering with God’s Pantry Food Bank for Hunger Action Day to help ensure that our neighbors don’t go hungry.
Michael Halligan, President and CEO of God’s Pantry Food Bank, says hunger in Kentucky is at an all-time high, with 280,000 people in central and eastern Kentucky experiencing food insecurity.
God’s Pantry Food Bank operates a Mobile Pantry Program to distribute food in places where there are limited partner food pantries.
One of those Mobile Pantry Programs is in Mount Sterling, and recently, our cameras were there to witness the growing need firsthand.
They line up bright and early, vehicle after vehicle, all waiting for precious cargo.
