Unions members gathered in support ahead of a hearing on the proposed Metropolitan Park casino by Citi Field in Flushing, Queens.
The plan is one of eight proposals competing for three casino licenses in downstate New York, and would be developed by Queens Future, a company formed by Mets owner Steve Cohen, as well as Hard Rock.
The proposal includes an $8.1 million investment to bring thousands of construction and permanent jobs to the area surrounding Citi Field — but not everyone is embracing the plan.
Paul Graziano, founder of the group Save Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, which is opposed to the plan, joined “Inside City Hall” to discuss his case.
