WELLSBORO, PA (WENY) — When someone goes missing, law enforcement sometimes brings in K9 Units to help with the search. Before those dogs can be brought in, they must go through up to two years of training.

One group of dog handlers in Tioga County says they want their dogs to help with that search. To prepare, they're attending Human Remains Detection (HRD) Workshops in Wellsboro from September 8 through September 14. They said they hope their dog's service will help to bring comfort to struggling families.
