WENATCHEE, Wash. – Governor Bob Ferguson signed an executive order on Tuesday at the Washington Building and Construction Trades Council convention to bolster worker protections on large state-funded projects.

The governor’s office announced that Executive Order 25-07 mandates Project Labor Agreements for public works projects exceeding $35 million. These agreements are designed to ensure fair pay, protections and benefits for all workers, including subcontractors, regardless of union status.

“All workers deserve fair pay and benefits. This executive order provides strong protections for workers on major projects, and predictability for the public,” Governor Ferguson stated.
