HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) - On a typical day at the Kansas State Fair, hundreds of cars would fill their parking lots, but now they are replaced by swampy puddles. The condition of these lots is forcing the fair to rethink its transportation and parking situation.
A few locations around Hutchinson are being used as makeshift transit hubs, where lines of people wait to be bused to the fairgrounds, including the Hutchinson Sports Arena, Uptown Mall, and Hutchinson Community College.
An inconvenience made out of necessity, but one that fairgoers don't seem to mind.
"I received a lot of good communication. I received an email telling me how to get here, where to go, and how to park. You can't really predict things like weather, so they did a really good job communicating next steps," Kansas S
