BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - This year’s Ruby Jubilee Quilt Show is commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Brazos Bluebonnet Quilt Guild.

The show includes quilt contests with more than a dozen total categories. More than 200 entries have been submitted.

“As you were growing up, we all had our favorite blankets or quilts,” said the show’s co-chair, Janet Kirkpatrick. “They’re comforting.”

Attendees can also purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a quilt appraised at $2,500.

“There were 23 of our members who contributed to the making of the quilt,” said the show’s chair, Helen Rode.

The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Brazos Center. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door, although children under 12 and current/
