INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana's Department of Transportation wants to bolster their staff roster to help keep roads safe when wintry weather hits.
On Tuesday, INDOT announced they were seeking "dedicated, qualified individuals who want to help serve their fellow Hoosiers this winter."
Hiring events are scheduled for Tuesday Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday Oct. 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. The events will take place at multiple locations across the state.
The work begins in November and continues through early April, INDOT said. Full-time operations positions begin at $21 per hour. The seasonal work includes general highway and traffic maintenance, ice and snow removal and other tasks.
You can also apply for on-call-only jobs as snowplow operators, which is paid at a $25 hourly rate.
