LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. — Four people were arrested for illegal fishing in northern Indiana last weekend.
Conservation officers checking on fishermen at Nasby Dam in the Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area in LaGrange County found a bucket full of fish with no one around. According to a Facebook post by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, the officers waited in some nearby bushes for the fishermen to return.
When they came back, the officers stopped the fishermen at their vehicle with buckets full of fish.
The officers' investigation uncovered 84 illegal game fish in the subjects' possession, including 21 black bass, 25 rock bass, 31 logperch, three bluegill, three crayfish and a rainbow darter, along with hundreds of other fish in the buckets.
