MCCORDSVILLE, Ind. — A student is under investigation after allegedly making threats to Geist Montessori Academy (GMA) .

The McCordsville Police Department said officers responded to GMA around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9 regarding a report of threats made by a juvenile student.

Police said the student was detained and is under investigation.

Police said investigators are also submitting a report to the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office.

"There is no active threat to the safety of staff or students at GMA. Out of an abundance of caution, the McCordsville Police Department will have an increased presence in and around the school in the coming days," the McCordsville Police Department said in a post on Facebook . "The safety of our students, staff, and community remains our top priority."
