Two years ago, a new law went into effect that allows a drug dealer to be charged with murder if a customer dies after consuming their product. Last year was the first time a Bell County grand jury indicted a person under H.B. 6, and this week that defendant entered two guilty pleas.
Shane Antwan Dominick, 30, of Killeen, is facing 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to a lesser, second-degree felony charge of manslaughter, according to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office.
“Sentencing is set for Sept. 29, and the punishments will run concurrently,” District Attorney Stephanie Newell said in an email on Tuesday.
