A woman was sentenced last week to a term of probation after she admitted to using Cash App to pinch funds from an elderly Killeen man.

A Bell County grand jury indicted 29-year-old Mirissa Stewart on April 30 on a third-degree felony charge of financial abuse of an elderly person $2,500 or more but less than $30,000. The Copperas Cove resident was released from the Bell County Jail after she posted a bond of $20,000, on March 7.

She pleaded guilty on July 24. During a hearing on Sept. 15, Judge Paul LePak did not find her guilty, instead placing her on three years of deferred adjudication probation, according to Bell County court records. As a condition, the judge ordered that the defendant pay $360 in restitution to the 71-year-old victim.
